IT Policy

Pakistan govt only gives incentives to rich investors and not to workers such as #developers#engineers, technical #support engineers who are the real heroes that develop and support software products and convince international investors to develop their products in Pakistan or support their IT services from Pakistan.

Incentive would only matter and work if tax paying, highly skilled engineers in IT domain get tax incentives. It would matter only when salaried class IT industry workers also get same kind of incentives otherwise these highly skilled, #underpaid#overtaxed#overworked workers will have no option but switch to either free lancing or move abroad.

What kind of mindless policy it is that you would get tax incentives if you work as freelancer in IT industry, but if you work in large team, on complex project for a reputed organization in the same IT industry you will pay around 40% income tax.

#PSEB only works for IT Companies, but it also does not represent work force in IT industry. There is a need for a body that represent work force for IT industry in front of govt. But even if #PSEB works for IT companies they should realize that many highly skilled engineers will have to switch to freelancing because of this policy which will seriously harm capacity of Pakistan based IT companies to deliver.

Only other option is that govt considers all IT workers who work for overseas client directly or indirectly through an IT outsourcing company as freelancer. If this is the case, then it would benefit both IT companies and engineers and would help grow the business.
